Heat offer Dwyane Wade 2-year, $40M deal to stay
Reports have emerged that suggest Wade is looking for a bit more money and a longer deal, along the lines of two or three years with an annual salary of $25 million. Some of the other teams that have been reportedly been pursuing him at least make sense – he’s from Chicago, he went to college at Marquette in Milwaukee and he could team back up with LeBron James in Cleveland – but Denver just seems odd. Is this flight-tracking report true? Even when James went back home to Cleveland, the bond between the two got stronger and they want nothing but the best for each other on and off the court in their lives. Unloading point guard Iman Shumpert, who signed a four-year, $40 million deal last July, could get the Cavaliers in the range of $11 million for next season. LeBron isn’t in that number. There was a rumored rift between the Heat and Wade, after the latter felt that he was not prioritized during the offseason. Or other players would have to be traded off.

Milwaukee would have to make a move to create cap room to sign Wade, possibly by trading center Greg Monroe. Gilbert, after all, just wrote a $54 million luxury-tax check.
“Happy 4 @CavsDan @KingJames @Dwyane Wade. Enjoy.” A tweet from Luxury Jets Group came. Wade is clearly seeing some of the deals being signed this summer and knows he could command a hefty salary in the open market. If the Heat don’t do something about it quickly, Wade may not be wearing a Heat uniform next season.
SPURS: A person with knowledge of the situation tells The Associated Press that San Antonio has agreed to terms with veteran forward Pau Gasol on a two-year deal worth $30 million. Now, they may be considered heroes if they team up once again to thwart the super-team in Golden State that added Kevin Durant.
Gasol has been one of the league’s most talented and versatile big men for the last 15 years.
LeBron would push for Wade to join him, of course. I’m not getting into how many years I want to play.

Will Barton could give Wade the rest that he needs to stay healthy.
