Heat’s Green fined $25000 by National Basketball Association for menacing gestures
The gestures came with around five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter of the Heat’s 110-105 pre-season win over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. After he connected on a pair of three-pointers, each of the baskets saw Green attempting to imitate shooting off a gun and then punctuating it with a throat-slashing gesture. He posted a pic on Instagram, of course. A former first-round draft choice by the Boston Celtics, Green has also played in the National Basketball Association Development League and in Russian Federation and China.

Green, who finished with 28 points, joined the Heat as a free agent in July, when he signed a one-year deal worth $1.4 million.
Last season, Green averaged 11.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game for the Phoenix Suns as a key reserve. Barring injury or unforeseen circumstances, Green is set to feature prominently off the Miami bench this season.

Despite the hype surrounding the Miami Heat’s starting lineup, the second unit has outshined the starters in the preseason.
