Heat, thunderstorms continue in Fairfield Saturday
The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for the area from noon on Thursday, Aug. 11, through 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13.

“This heat advisory and excessive heat watch mean that a prolonged period of dangerously hot temperatures and high humidity levels will occur.” the advisory reads.
Heat index values, or “Feels Like Temperatures” will be the highest so far this year.
The heat is expected to continue into next week, according to the NWS and forecasters said heat advisories may be necessary.
