Heat Warning Issued For GTA And Much Of Southern Ontario

Weather officials are forecasting temperatures to return to seasonal levels over the weekend.

Environment Canada has issued a Heat Warning for Thursday and Friday.

Environment Canada says temperatures will reach the low 30s both days, with humidex values potentially hitting the high 30s and into the low 40s.

Overnight lows meanwhile, will be near 20 degrees. If any of these symptoms arise, a person should move to a shaded or air conditioned area.

Drink plenty of liquids especially water before you feel thirsty to decrease your risk of dehydration. Thirst is not a good indicator of dehydration.

They are also urging people not to leave kids or pets inside a parked vehicle or in direct sunlight, while they also advise people to prepare meals that don’t need to be cooked in the oven.
