So, the cat’s out of the bag: Suicide Squad isn’t almost as great as most people hoped.

Suicide Squad sadly doesn’t live up to expectations, but it is a solid effort at something a little different, while still giving the audience some of what it wants. Suicide Squad is easily one of the most anticipated movies of the summer, if not the year, mainly because of its flashy marketing campaign and adrenaline filled trailers.
So Jared Leto is pretty much just the Joker full-time, right?
“I patterned it after the way I’ve seen celebrity romances as interpreted through the gossip magazines”, Dini said.
Jay Hernandez, however, ends up stealing the show later in the film since he’s also one of the few characters with an actual arc and has a deep emotional hook to his backstory.
Overall Suicide Squad did entertain for most of its two hours and two minutes run time. The A-list cast is certainly the main draw here with the likes of Will Smith, Jared Leto, Viola Davis, and Margot Robbie all having major roles.
Anyway, bad reviews or not, the movie is slated to make a killing at the box office. Only time will tell.

I give Suicide Squad a “B” rating, nothing to write home about, but fun to watch. But you’ve always had some comedy in even your most bleak movies.
