Heavily armed gunman “intentionally targetted and assassinated” Baton Rouge police officers
On Sunday, in the hours after the attack on officers in Baton Rouge, La., police reformers were quick to condemn the killings – and there were touching efforts to bridge the divide between the black community and police, such as a cookout in Wichita, Kan.

An Iraq war veteran who gunned down six policemen in Baton Rouge targeted the officers in a brutally calculated ambush, officials said on July 18, deepening their investigation into the second racially charged armed assault on U.S. law enforcement this month. “These are attacks on public servants, on the rule of law and on civilized society, and they have to stop”.
That’s a tall order: A record number of black voters turned out in 2008 and gave 95 percent of their support to Mr. Obama.
“What it tells its people is that you are special, you are indigenous, your blood was here before the United States was”, MacNab said.
And she’s right. In reality, though, all lives matter, but if you say that you’ll be labeled a racist.
Long, armed with two rifles and a handgun, made at least two tentative approaches toward law enforcement before opening fire. “The last couple of years, Barack Obama has done nothing but hate on cops, accusing cops of being bad and racist”, former Congressman Joe Walsh said on CNN.
“Anyone who kills a police officer and anyone who helps must be held accountable”, Clinton said. In doing so, he has also offered several detailed arguments for the importance of law enforcement during his presidency.
“We are not ready to say he acted alone”, state police spokesman Major Doug Cain said.
“The police officers, their families, their spouses and children are all at a new heightened level of concern every time the spouse or family member leaves the home”, said Dean Angelo, FOP President.
McDougle studies who stress can impact a police officer while on duty.
He also became a father just four months ago.
Last month, two criminologists published a study of complaints filed by citizens in eight cities: Albuquerque; Charlotte; Colorado Springs; Columbus; Fort Wayne, Indiana; Knoxville, Tennessee; Portland, Oregon; and St. Petersburg, Florida.
On July 8, Officer Jackson made a plea on Facebook. Officers who generated more complaints tended to be younger and less experienced. An officer fired, striking him fatally.
And while ME seems far removed from that violence, state and local police said they’re concerned the apparent anger in the country could cause an attack anywhere. “Folks were very interested in containing the African-American community so it couldn’t leave segregated areas, but within those areas there wasn’t enough police presence”.
Obama might have been referring to the work of 20th-century anthropologists such as Hortense Powdermaker. “We all need to see that to make a better Baton Rouge”. “They didn’t play by the rules in Dallas, and they didn’t play by the rules here”. He worked hard, sometimes seven days a week. They absorb things from a variety of different places. Planned as a protest, it was repurposed as a community barbecue with local police. “No one has a light switch that they can turn on and suddenly everything is different”.
Some police officers are barely paid minimum wage. The economic benefits of those avoided crimes would total about $38 billion, according to the report.
The Justice Department has opened a civil rights investigation into the death.

“I just want us to have peace and drive down the road and not feel like we have to duck our heads and look around and see if someone’s going to be on top of a roof”, said Pam Collins, a resident of a Baton Rouge suburb who brought three shiny balloons to honor the officers. “The recommendation to increase the number of police is blind to history and it’s blind to the present moment”.
