Hebron incidents raise West Bank tension
Also on Sunday, Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian woman after alleging that she carried out a knife attack in the West Bank, Palestinian media reported.

Back-to-back Palestinian shootings Friday wounded three Israelis, two of them seriously, the military said. The guard was slightly wounded and shot the woman, wounding her.
He turned himself into Palestinian security forces the next day, thus likely to avoid being sent to an Israeli prison.
But the first Palestinian uprising in the 1980s is widely seen as having hastened Israel’s decision to allow limited Palestinian self-rule in the West Bank, and rocket and mortar fire on Israeli settlements in the Gaza Strip was a key factor behind the decision to pull out in 2005.
Amid the 37,000 Palestinians that live there, thousands of soldiers are stationed in the “H2 area” of the city – under full Israeli military control – to protect the 600-strong Jewish settler population.
Searches are underway for their assailants, it added.
Less than two hours prior to this attack, a run over attack at the Tapuach junction, south of Nablus in the West Bank, left two Israelis seriously wounded and two others lightly wounded. On the agenda of the White House talks, Netanyahu said, is “possible progress with the Palestinians, or at least, stabilizing the situation when it comes to them”. Gaza militants inspired by the Islamic State group have taken responsibility for recent rocket attacks.
The military said the auto slowed down and then sped toward the soldiers, who were able to get out of the way before firing at the vehicle.
A Palestinian man was shot and killed Sunday morning after crashing into a bus stop, injuring four Israelis.
The incidents were the latest in a five-week-old campaign of Palestinian street attacks, fuelled in part by Muslim agitation at stepped-up Jewish visits to a contested Jerusalem holy site, as well as by long-deadlocked peacemaking with Israel.
As Palestinian violence once more erupts in auto rammings and knifings of Israelis, a few locally choose to divert attention from these attacks or imply that they are the result of Palestinian “frustrations” over the continuing occupation of its territories. “This Intifada is the real response to the Israeli aggression, also to defend al-Aqsa Mosque which and against the endless settlement’s expansion which swallowed the Palestinian lands”, said Radwan.
Amro says dozens of Israeli settlers have gathered outside the building, celebrating the raid and chanting for Israeli troops to kill the Palestinians.

Officials say at least two of the Israeli victims are in the hospital.
