Speaking about the musical she said, “We have done quite a lot of work on the musical, and we’ve done some workshops”.

Author of the series Helen Fielding has confirmed that a Bridget Jones musical is in the works.

She added, “I’m really excited about the idea of a musical”.

“If you make a movie that people will still watch in 10 or 20 years, a movie that will still be relevant, that will go beyond fashion, then you made a good movie”, he said.

Helen Fielding first wrote about the 30-something single woman in a newspaper column in 1995, with the first film released in 2001. Compared to previous films where Bridget was in her thirties and struggling to achieve her ideal weight and love life, the sequel features Bridget in her forties and living a new life where everything is under control.
