NASA astronaut Scott Kelly is the first American to complete a continuous, year-long mission in space and is now the American who has spent the most cumulative time in space, but it’s not the first time humans have reached this goal.

Set to the Benny Hill theme tune, the gorilla pops out of a big white bag and proceeds to bob around in the gravity-less space station before chasing our Tim through the narrow corridors.

Scientists have been studying Kelly and his identical twin brother Mark Kelly (also a former NASA astronaut) on Earth to see how prolonged spaceflight changes the human body.
“The objective for the contest is to create algorithms that will receive a pair of noisy stereo images of common space tools such as an Radio-frequency identification (RFID) reader, an EVA handrail or a softbox, among others, and determine the correct 3-D representation of the object in the image pair”, the USA space agency said in a statement.
The astronaut is going all out in the final week of his one-year mission on the ISS.
During his time aboard the station Kelly has been involved in over 400 experiments, taken 742 stunning photos and accomplished the impressive feat of officially becoming the most accomplished gardener in space. The one-year mission embodies the spirit of collaboration across countries in the effort to mitigate as many risks as possible for humans on long-duration missions.
