According to the report, some tourists later spotted this bird struggling to fly properly, and hence the animal welfare department were called.
When official from animal welfare department checked it out, they found that the bird was covered with some toxic paint which made his feathers unable to work properly.
One expert from the department said “We know there were sheep spray-painted with washable yellow paint to mark the visit of the Tour de France”.
She added “It’s likely someone thought it was a clever idea to paint a seagull as well”.
The bird is now recovering at a specialist RSPCA wildlife center in Cheshire.
