The Mercedes in which Hema was travelling rammed into another auto coming from the opposite direction, leaving two-year-old Sonam in that vehicle dead and four others injured, including the parents of the girl, Hanuman and Shikha Khandelwal. The accident killed a little girl who was travelling in an Alto auto.
While Salman Khan’s hit-and-run case is very much in the limelight, Bollywood veteran and politician Hema Malini’s auto driver has been arrested after the speeding Mercedes Benz hit a Maruti Alto in Rajasthan on Thursday evening.
“She was discharged from the hospital at around 9.30am”, said Prateem Tamboli, facility director of Fortis Escorts Hospital.
The driver of Ms Malini’s auto has been arrested, police said.
FIR was lodged against the driver, who hails from Vrindavan, under various sections of IPC including 279 (rash driving) and 304 (A) (causing death by negligence) in the wee hours, SHO said.

The doctor at the hospital says that Hema Malini only requires “plastic surgery” and nothing more to recover from the scars on her face.
She had suffered injuries on the forehead and a Connecticut scan had to be conducted.

Hema Malini represents Mathura in Parliament. “I Pray to God to give them strength to bear this loss”.
