Family and neighbors are coming together to remember Joyner and express outrage over the shooting.

“Dejah Joyner’s life was violently cut short before she even had a chance to live it”, Nassau County Acting District Attorney Madeline Singas said in a statement Sunday. He said it was too early in the investigation to know if the girl was targeted.

“I just went to Home Depot this morning”. This is like, back and forth. “Every time they see this guy in front of the house, they come after him”, he told The Post. And an innocent girl just got in the middle.

Officials are offering a $75,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest in connection with a shooting on Long Island that left a 12-year-old girl in critical condition after she was struck by a stray bullet.

Police have promised to increase patrols in the neighborhood.
