Henderson leads LPGA Portland Classic
Brooke Henderson, of Canada, acknowledges fans after putting for par on the first hole during the final round of the LPGA Cambia Portland Classic golf tournament Sunday, July 3, 2016, in Portland, Ore. But Henderson’s main opponent was Mariajo Uribe, who was tied for the lead with seven holes remaining but finished with two double bogeys. “I love match play, so today I went out with the mentality of playing against her and staying alive until 18”, she added. “Prior to today I hadn’t birdied any of the par 5s, so that was a big goal coming into today”. “Finally. It’s nice”, Pettersen said. “For the way I struck the ball, I scored extremely well”, Henderson said. Since winning her maiden event, Henderson has soared to become No. 2 ranked, and two weeks ago won the Women’s PGA Championship.

“I like to play a lot, though”. “It was kind of a weird day of golf, but I made a couple of putts down the stretch when I needed to”.
