Henrik Stenson withdraws from The Barclays, citing a knee injury

I like this golf course and the way it’s playing, and I showed that today.

The playoffs begin with the Barclays in NY tomorrow.

Another 30 will be eliminated there, and the biggest cut comes at the BMW Championship where only 30 of 70 advance to East Lake for the TOUR Championship. He has just one top 10 since and seven missed cuts in 10 starts, but has earned over $2.4 million in 2015-16.

The bar was set extremely high. It wasn’t a major; it wasn’t a World Golf Championship.

Spieth will be a member of this year’s United States team pitted against the best from Europe. He claimed his 17th victory on the circuit past year in the RBC Heritage.

“If I can get off to a nice start here, that should give me the confidence going forward”.

The 2016 FedEx Cup playoffs get underway this week with The Barclays at Bethpage State Park in NY.

The PGA Tour has finally reached the first leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs with the focus shifting dramatically following the final major championship of the season and golf’s return to the Olympics.

Both Day and Johnson will be teeing it up this week as they head the FedExCup rankings with a miniscule 34 points of separation.

“I think there’s a number of reasons why the FedEx Cup is so important to a player”. Spieth could have a chance to make a little more history. He’s 51st now – not unlike in 2011 when he came to The Barclays ranked 43rd yet had climbed into the top five at East Lake. He expects to be an early arrival again this year.

There was little time to celebrate the victories – and the more than $11 million in prize money – past year. Expect a tight race for POY honors and also expect a whole host of players to continue the ball into next season. Spieth was allowed to reflect on his good fortune by the holidays.

“I would say it was around Christmas time, New Years’ time, when I could really reflect”, Spieth said.

“I’m not going to lie there’s a big price tag at the end of the four events that is very, very motivating”, Day said. It takes some time to let it sink in. “I think everything is coming around well”.

The Barclays will see 25 players culled as the FedEx Cup play-offs eventually dwindles down to the top 30 at the Tour Championship. It just doesn’t happen. As he proved in 2013, when he gets on a roll, he’s tough to stop. I won two of these a year ago, and they are big, big events.

The Barclays, the first leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs is here and it’s anybody’s tournament.

Furyk is in his 23rd season on the PGA Tour, and it is not as if he is losing it. But he qualified for what may be his last FedEx Cup appearance – Toms turns 50 in January to be eligible for the Champions Tour.
