Wenger has stated on numerous occasions that his star performer is jaded and in need of a rest, but he has continued to play him in every Arsenal game and now faces a spell on the sidelines.

The Chilean forward was dealing with what Wenger descirbed as “a hamstring alert” prior to the 1-1 draw at Carrow Road, and he was forced to limp off in the second half after aggravating the problem.

While there are various reasons for Arsenal getting just a point from the game, with our injury problems and the home side’s commitment and desire two big aspects, I wanted to look at why Bellerin struggled to get into the game. “Maybe the travelling as well to South America…I would have rested him today but he felt perfectly all right before the game and he declared that he had no problem”, he said.

Poor ol’ Arsenal… Arsene Wenger really either needs to change the way his players are training… or fire the entire medical team… because the number of injuries every season is becoming borderline ridiculous.

“They are ready to step up so obviously every single player on the bench can do the same job as every single player in the starting 11”. We should have played our game better than we did. On top of that we lost Alexis and Koscielny and we had Cazorla playing on one leg in the second half. Arsenal host fourth-from-bottom Sunderland in the league on Saturday.

“The players are there to play football and not to be rested when the press decides they need to be rested”, Wenger told reporters.

Sanchez played the entirety of Tuesday night’s win over Zagreb despite Wenger’s ongoing fears the Chile worldwide is suffering from fatigue and therefore susceptible to injury.

“Nobody is scientifically developed enough to predict when a guy will get injured”. “Hopefully I can get a few more games under my belt to get my fitness levels back up”. “Playing the way we played, I wouldn’t be surprised if in the next 10 matches we don’t lose one”.

The scan results will determine whether he will miss the entire festive schedule of matches, with Arsenal now preparing to play seven matches in a month with a squad that has been significantly depleted by injuries.
