August 27: A Delhi Court on Saturday issued notices to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, party vice-president Rahul Gandhi and five others on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy’s application seeking summoning of certain documents from Associated Journals Pvt.

Swamy’s application sought summoning of documents from Associated Journal Limited and the Congress party.
Kunte said there can be a settlement only if the Congress leader apologises again and give it in writing to the Supreme Court that in future he will not repeat the statement blaming the RSS for the assassination.
The trial court had also sought documents from the ministries of finance, corporate affairs and other agencies.
In his application, Swamy has sought documents relating to a loan given by the Congress to the AJL, the holding firm of the National Herald, saying these were necessary for the purposes of trial in the case.
Mr Sibal had referred to the Congress leader’s affidavit before the Bombay high court in which Rahul had said that he blamed a person associated with the RSS for the killing, but did not denounce the whole organisation. Gandhi’s had not moved High Court against summoning of the documents and balance sheet. Cheema said that in pursuance to the trial court’s order, some documents were summoned and they were taken on record but now after the High Court’s order, these documents can not be kept on record. Swamy, however, said that these documents should be kept in the court and he would file a fresh application soon.
Metropolitan Magistrate Lovleen asked the Gandhis, party leaders Motilal Vora and Oscar Fernandes, Suman Dubey, Sam Pitroda and Young Indian Pvt Ltd (YI) who are accused in the case, to file a reply to Swamy’s plea and listed the matter for October 4.
Swamy has accused them of allegedly conspiring to cheat and misappropriate funds.

Swamy alleged that Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul were on the list of board of directors of YIL, through which they had “taken over” the assets of AJL in a “malicious manner” to gain profits worth Rs 2,000 crore.
