The survey, conducted November 2-4 by ORC global, indicated 15 percent of people planned to shop for the holidays on Thanksgiving Day, 41 percent on Black Friday and 30 percent on Saturday and/or Sunday that weekend. Inventory tends to drop off after Cyber Monday, she says, with more people buying jewelry in December as we get closer to the holidays.

And they may need to start as early as this weekend, says Tamara Gaffney, a principal analysts for Adobe Digital Index. Small Business Saturday, an annual event launched by American Express in 2010, falls on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, giving local retailers yet another opportunity to leverage the Black Friday section of local newspapers.
“It’s important to remember, there will be several important weekends to keep an eye on before we wrap up the holiday season”, Shay said. “Everything will really start to pick up on Wednesday with Black Friday pricing”.
Today’s the day that millions of shoppers have been waiting for, the official start of Amazon;s Black Friday Deals week.
That actually might not apply as much as I think, considering most Black Friday shoppers are going out of their way and “working” to find cheap deals anyway.
