“Mr. Trump, I can state unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency”, Bornstein wrote at the time. The letter, which is signed by his personal doctor, was given to the Washington Post.

Earlier this morning, Trump’s campaign aides said that he would not be releasing medical records during the taping of an appearance on “The Dr. Oz Show”.

Donald Trump sat down with celebrity doctor Mehmet Oz to chat about his medical records and weight loss goals on Wednesday for an episode that will air Thursday. “Should I do it?” he responded to Oz, when asked if he would reveal his medical records – also showing a letter from Dr Harold Bornstein of Lenox Hill Hospital, who has been Trump’s physician for the past 35 years.

Trump, who has made the candidates’ health a campaign issue, had previously said he would release “very, very specific” information.

Trump also discussed the details on “The Dr. Oz Show” in an interview broadcast Thursday.

The campaign says that Clinton’s physician found that the remainder of the Democratic presidential nominee’s complete physical exam was “normal” and she is in “excellent mental condition”.

Trump does not drink alcohol or smoke. As stated in a previous letter from Bornstein (PDF), Trump’s PSA score was 0.15.

It specifies some of the tests that Trump has undergone in the last few years: liver function, thyroid function, colonoscopy, an electrocardiogram, an echocardiogram, and a chest X-ray. Trump has “no family history of premature cardiac or neoplastic disease”, he added.

In the press release with Trump’s medical results, his campaign took a veiled shot at Clinton, noting the Republican was healthy enough to campaign “uninterrupted”. “I think they’re going to be good. I did it last week, and the samples all came back, and I guess I wouldn’t be talking to you right now if they were bad”, Trump said. Trump’s doctor said the candidate is in good health, though he is overweight.

Her campaign said Clinton has “mild, non-contagious bacterial pneumonia”, and is being treated with an antibiotic called Levaquin, prescribed for 10 days.
