Dubai is one of only four cities in the study where an average unfurnished three-room apartment rents for more than 3,000 United States dollars a month, namely USD 3,240.

Everyone likes to complain about the cost of living in their city of choice, but it turns out two cities in Switzerland are the world’s most expensive.

As “Armenpress” reports, referring to “Bloomberg”, it costs a Zurich family of three more than $3,600 a month to live, based on a basket of 122 goods and services that doesn’t include rent, the report shows. But when it comes to net salaries, the lowest urban earners live in Jakarta, Kiev, and Nairobi. Fortunately inhabitants are among the most well paid, earning on average around 36 euros per hour.

The latest UBS Prices and Earnings study has found that Tel Aviv is the costliest city in the Middle East when rents are excluded, but Dubai is the most expensive including rents.

According to the survey, people work over 2,000 hours per year in 19 major cities, most of them in Asia and the Middle East. The shortest working hours and highest number of days of paid vacation are enjoyed by workers in Western Europe.

Topping the list of the world’s most expensive cities are Zurich, Geneva, New York and Oslo, with Tokyo, London and Sydney also in the top 10.

For the iPhone 6 16GB, workers in cities such as Zurich and New York City require on average less than three days on the job to be able to grab one.

While Swiss wages are the highest in the world, this matches the pricey cost of living in the country.
