Here is how to download the new Android Nougat
An app developer on Reddit, shared the current amount of installs for their app as of August 21st and showed that 115 users were running Android 7.1, and 4 users were running Android O. In the meantime, here’s which devices are expected to get Android 7.0 Nougat and when we expect to see the update arrive.

Flash a Nougat OTA Update: If you’re comfortable with ADB and fastboot, you can flash an OTA (over-the-air) update to upgrade your device without wiping anything or enrolling in the beta program. So, while Google did in fact release Android 7.0 Nougat to the public on Monday afternoon, the only people who can use it for the time being are owners of Google’s Nexus branded smartphones.
As for other smartphone vendors, you’re probably in fairly good shape if you have a newer Motorola smartphone because Moto is generally quick with updates. We don’t know if the special features and customizations that are coming to the new Nexii will come (even in part) to the older Nexii. Google would work to further the development of a new operating system called Fuchsia.
Last year, Google released Android 6.0 Marshmallow and as of Google’s latest Android version distribution numbers, it’s only installed on 15.2% of active Android devices.
Android Nougat will be rolled out over the next several weeks. As Nexus is from Google itself, the phones will get updates faster. Now, the web is already abuzz with speculation about when the next version of Android, presumably Android 7.1, will be released, and what it will bring.

If you stay in the Android Beta program after getting the final 7.0 update, you’ll automatically get updates to the MR1 Developer Preview when it’s available. Other smartphones should receive in the coming months. The LG V20, which is due out on September 6 will be the first smartphone to run natively with Android 7.0. The Nexus 5 line is being ended officially and as such will not be able to partake in the Nougat experience.
