Here’s Everything You Need to Know About ‘The Hills’ 10th Anniversary Special
So often we would say, like, ‘If you knew the real story, you would understand.’ And what I’d like to do is tell that story…

‘We were sad for her, but in the long run, we knew it was best, ‘ her mother Kathy said.
“It’s unfair that a decade after the show started, everyone still blames the drama on Spencer and me”, she said of herself and her hubby. To honor the anniversary , Lauren Conrad sat down with a few members of the show’s team and her family for MTV’s The Hills: Then and Now. Soap opera reunion will air on MTV, which will feature some of the top spots where “Laguna Beach and “The Hills” originally filmed”.
“MTV should care what Spencer did to me”, she was then seen telling the camera crew in previously unaired video. We don’t need a glossy MTV episode to tell us how Lauren is doing; we can go to her Instagram for that. She later muses that one of the many lessons she learned from the show was that people change and friendships end, but that’s part of life. “So I was like, ‘Who is doing that now?’ He doesn’t have friends that are doing it”, she added. She also said the first time she saw Jason post break-up was filming that scene, which is why she was so emotional. “We could disappear really quickly”.
“[It] was really hard to watch”, Conrad continued, according to UPI.
While Conrad admitted that looking back “doesn’t always bring back the best of memories” and she hasn’t rewatched the show or relived her time on it, she did reminisce about some of the series’ memorable moments and her relationships with various castmembers, revealing behind-the-scenes stories. “Because there (were) a lot of nights that, you know, I was getting 2 a.m. calls, and I had to go pick him up, passed out in the back of a club”. Ultimately, Lauren made the decision to stay in L.A. and spend the summer with Jason, giving up the Paris opportunity to her work bestie, Whitney. “What made it harder was I could see he wasn’t sober”.
The special started off with plenty of shade as Miz Conrad dished that she believed she wouldn’t have been friends with her fellow castmates if they hadn’t been casted on the reality TV show together. “This is creepy that you wrote ‘This is how we think your night’s going to be.'” Creepy and impressive.
But still, what’s a 10-year anniversary special without a little shade thrown? “We didn’t want her to be afraid to tell us anything, really”.

The Hills revisited the Laguna Beach spawn that featured California-livin’ 20-somethings who had more drama in their young lives than most of us will (hopefully) ever see in our entire lifetimes. “He was my friend, I enjoyed spending time with him, but it just felt forced”, she revealed. The 45-minute TV event, titled That Was Then, This is Now, was at times anti-climatic and at other times very genuine-like Lauren’s parents sharing the struggles of raising a reality star.
