Her tart and colourful chocolate peacock in the showstopper earned her the Star Baker title for the third time this series.
As Flora got underway with her creation of passion fruit and chocolate tart everything seemed to be going to plan.
Flora became the latest baker to leave the show in the tense semi-final [BBC]. Her chocolate souffle was deemed by judge Mary Berry to have a “lovely texture and flavour”. All the women in my family have always baked, and I think I am just a copy cat of my mum.
After blue-eyed Paul ripped into her creation, Flora admitted to the camera: “It wasn’t a complete disaster, but for a semi final signature it was pretty catastrophic”.
While Ian hoped for the best, covering his oven as he popped his mixture into bake, Flora couldn’t take her eyes off her souffle and Nadiya admitted: ‘I would sooner have another baby than go through that again’.
The amateur baker also revealed that friends and family have been poking fun at her TV appearances: “I watch the show with my family and friends and everyone has loved it, even though I do get a bit of teasing from certain lines that I have said”.
“If you’re going to make macarons, at least do it properly”, he said.
Contemplating the drama of the semi-final an emotional Ian said: “I felt like I got through by the skin of my teeth today I thought that was it. Im going home”.
The 19-year-old’s departure means that Ian Cumming, Tamal Ray and Nadiya Jamir Hussain will now be competing for the top prize in next week’s final.
Famed for her endlessly fascinating facial expressions as much as for her culinary masterpieces, Nadiya was brim full of emotions, experiencing chocolate hell and heaven in the course of three challenges.

But it all went horribly wrong for Flora, whose over-embellished tart with it’s poorly made macarons and her crumbly carousel, fell foul of the judges.
