Here’s What Martha Stewart Has to Say About Blake Lively Shuttering Preserve

Brand management company Sequential Brands Group is in the process of buying Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. for $353million, a fraction of the $2billion the company was worth after Stewart took it public in 1999. Now, Martha Stewart products are sold at several stores, including home improvement retailer Home Depot, department store chain Macy’s and craft retailer Michaels.

“Thank you for sharing your stories and Preserving with us”, the note read, alongside a snap of a sunset landscape. “Listen, she’s a movie actress”, the lifestyle maven said of the the Age of Adaline star. “She’s at the top of her career”, Stewart added.

“I’m totally supportive”, Stewart told Us Weekly on Monday about the demise of the busy actress and mom’s lifestyle website after one year.

Stewart spoke Harshly about Lively’s decision to launch the website past year. “And that’s the whole reason I started this company, not just to fluff myself, like, ‘I’m a celebrity!”

Lively first announced last month that she was shuttering the site, telling Vogue she pulled the plug because “it’s not making a difference in people’s lives, whether superficially or in a meaningful way”.

“She just needs to be quiet”.

“We thought about buying [Kmart], but we didn’t do it, and we should have”, The Bedford resident said in an interview with The Associated Press.
