Here’s what Twitter was doing during Tim Kaine’s DNC speech

Kaine tells the Democratic convention in Philadelphia that he formally accepts the party’s nomination on behalf of his wife, Anne, “and every strong woman in this country”, their three children and everyone in the military. Kaine represents a philosophy of service and helping people who work for more than the life they’ve been dealt.

“Retirees and families in Florida believed Donald Trump when he said he’d build them condos”, Kaine said. However, many of them also had Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and former San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro on their short lists of people they would have liked Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton to pick. “I don’t trust Donald Trump”, he told the crowd, making the case for the party’s top of the ticket. Clinton announced last Friday that Kaine, a sitting Senator for Virginia, would be her running-mate.

Kaine put an exclamation point on it by pointing out that unlike other presidential contenders in the past, Trump has refused to release his tax returns.

In his acceptance speech, the 58-year-old senator from the battleground state of Virginia, mocked the 70-year-old reality TV star’s often cited remarks “believe me”, amid applause from the audience.

“We’ve got to advance opportunity for everybody”, Kaine said. “He just says, ‘Believe me'”.

“Hey, Donald, what are you hiding?”

Vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine’s Democratic National Convention address was clearly aimed at wooing the party progressives who opposed his selection and showcasing his ability to serve as an attack dog against Donald Trump – who he referred to as a
”moral disaster”. Believe me.’ ” Kaine said no one running for US President just says ‘believe me” without describing their plans and policies.

Kaine said he would never trust Trump as president.

Tim Kaine is mocking Donald Trump for being ignorant of “basic civics” and wrongly saying Kaine was a bad governor of New Jersey.
