Here’s what we know about the big Donald Trump-Megyn Kelly interview
On Thursday, Megyn Kelly stopped by NBC’s “The Tonight Show” to tell host Jimmy Fallon how the highly anticipated interview came to be.

Taking further issue with the question’s obvious slant, Kelly said, “You know, would you ask that question of Savannah Guthrie, you know, when she was doing the 9 a.m. over on MSNBC?”
Discussing the moment she met one-on-one with Trump before the interview, she added: ‘We didn’t address anything that had happened.
“They’re like, ‘OK, good for you, Mom.’ I certainly haven’t gotten into the specifics of what’s been said. So we had a normal conversation like candidate and reporter”, Kelly said.
Kelly was on the receiving end of relentless attacks by Trump following the first Fox News debate, at which he felt he was slighted by the then co-moderator.
“I’m a journalist covering this race”, she tells Time. “I wanted to do it by myself”, she said.
Throughout the 2016 campaign, Kelly has been a frequent target for Trump, often the subject of his critical tweets and sharp rhetoric.
Kelly angered Trump during the first GOP presidential debate last August by sharply questioning him about his past remarks about women. “But that was clearly the right course to pursue”, she said.
The interview airing Tuesday was borne of an April 13 meeting at Trump Tower that surprised the rest of the media – and the doorman, as Kelly joked on her program that evening. Kelly, who has been a bit player in the Trump saga, starts to go on a warpath. Andy my point was not to pass Megyn Kelly’s judgment on his language; it was to say, ‘Hillary Clinton is the likely Democratic nominee. “It’s been a hard year, but I know where it falls on the spectrum”. The now presumptive Republican presidential nominee retweeted a supporter who called Kelly a “bimbo” during his feud over their showdown at a GOP debate.

And it’s worth noting here that it was never just about Trump and Kelly. Lately, he has been an almost-daily presence on “Fox & Friends” in the mornings.
