Here’s What You Need to Know About Anthony Weiner’s Wife, Huma Abedin

The New York Post published photographs and messages that the former congressman exchanged with a woman showing him shirtless with his four-year-old son asleep by his side. Born in the USA to Indian and Pakistani parents and raised in Saudi Arabia, 40-year-old Abedin first interned with Hillary Clinton during the ’90s while Bill Clinton was president and then became her chief of staff when Clinton served as secretary of state, traveling the world with America’s top diplomat. “During this hard time, I ask for respect for our privacy”, Abedin said.

In this photo taken August 28, 2016, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s senior aid Huma Abedin, center, departs a fundraiser at a private home in Southampton, N.Y. Abedin says she is separating from husband Anthony Weiner after another sexting revelation involving the former congressman from NY.

Abedin has periodically garnered headlines over the years for her roles in controversies over donor access to Clinton, her boss’s use of a private email server at the State Department and Abedin’s overlapping employment with an outside consulting firm while she was a government employee. Abedin’s friend said the separation from Weiner had been brewing for some time.

Reporters on the campaign trail have noticed that in recent months that Abedin has not been wearing a wedding ring, but in May, she did appear alongside Weiner at the Met Gala.

Ms Abedin often travels with the Clinton campaign. He lost his seat in Congress in 2011 after lying about claims he had exchanged sexually explicit photos with multiple women. So, yes, she “stayed after the first scandal [and] she stayed after the second”, but third time’s the charm. The couple have a young son, Jordan.

In spite of the scandal and his resignation from Congress, Weiner chose to run for mayor of New York City in 2013.

As a political wonk, I was drawn to watch the movie “Weiner” because I figured there was no way he’d let anyone follow him around 24/7 with a camera crew unless we’d get a different glimpse of the man whose Twitpik and unfortunate last name created the joke heard ’round the world in 2011.

Abedin herself recently told Vogue she coped with the scandals by immersing herself her work, to “block out all the noise”.

“Our marriage, like many others has had its ups and its downs. It was not an easy choice in an way, but I made the decision that it was worth staying in this marriage”.

Congressional Republicans have raised questions about whether Abedin skirted ethics guidelines during her 2012 work as an adviser to Clinton while she also worked for Teneo Holdings, a consulting firm co-founded by Doug Band, a former aide to former President Bill Clinton. “Huma has a very strong moral character, and she made a commitment for better or worse”.

“I know Anthony Weiner well, and she will be far better off without him”, said Trump, who has been divorced twice.

Weiner’s wife, Huma Abedin, is Hillary Clinton’s closest advisor.

Donald Trump tried to argue that Weiner’s sexting might be a potential threat to national security, since he might have overheard classified information from his wife that could be passed on to his sexting partners.
