Here’s why everyone is so confused about No Man’s Sky having multiplayer

These items grant you the highest amount of units when selling them on No Man’s Sky’s trade market, though some planets will be mostly devoid of them, meaning that you’re best off leaving them behind if you want to reach the galaxy’s core in a timely fashion.

The first unit of Antimatter is given to players for free when they encounter an Alien for the first time. These enhancements could offer simple bonuses such as the ability to sprint for longer, or more substantial upgrades such as the ability to breath underwater. New gameplays are likely to arrive soon.

To find a drop pod you must first find a Signal Scanner, which are easily spotted on a planet by virtue of the orange beam of light they shoot skywards.

Nothing breaks immersion like loading screens so No Man’s Sky has none. In order to access a Signal Scanner you must craft a Bypass Chip, with the device then asking you which area of the planet you want it to reveal.

While that doesn’t totally explain why the two couldn’t see one another, it does give some insight on how much strain the game’s servers were under at launch. You would also be trading with non-playable characters (NPC). You could also find yourself in epic battles against robots and mechs.

This must be quite disappointing for a lot of fans, particularly those who wanted a shared experience, but No Man’s Sky has always been primarily promoted as a single-player experience, so hopefully most players will not feel as betrayed. As with Starships, you will have to rebuild any upgrades not pre-installed from scratch and every little resource gain will help. Make no mistake, this is not all there is to see in No Man’s Sky, but there’s enough repetition going on here that trying to complete every procedural task that comes your way is going to end up preventing any sense of progress.

But there is a BUT.

Although multiplayer does exist in No Man’s Sky, it is very hard and arguably close to impossible to team up with a friend, as they could have started on the other side of the universe.

Of course, the chat during the stream immediately began to call Sean Murray, the game’s creator and founder of Hello Games, a liar but they may have jumped to that conclusion too quickly. The key to getting over the fact that No Man’s Sky is shockingly overwhelming is simply to embrace it, as this is a game about exploring an entire universe after all. This is just the start and it is already awesome.
