Here’s Your Guide to the College Football Playoffs
Four teams will meet in two storied bowl games-the Orange and the Cotton-as you wallow in your pre-hangover on the couch. “There’s merits in both cases, but in the end, you know, we were hoping for the best matchup we could get”.

Note: Both games air on ESPN on December 31; game times listed are Eastern (ET).
A moment, please, before we delve into the future, to let us recognize the dear-departed Bluebonnet Bowl, a middling and largely meaningless contest played in Houston, Texas, during the New Year’s Eves of my childhood. Last year, ESPN saw incredible ratings for the inaugural College Football Playoff matchups on New Year’s Day. The NCAA needs the approval – and participation – of its major conferences to make a four-team playoff possible.
While Clemson had an impressive home win against Notre Dame this season, the Tigers barely bested SC and North Carolina to close the season. The Heisman Trophy finalist is coming off a superlative regular season that saw the Tigers capture 13 straight wins and an ACC title, and he single-handedly transformed Clemson’s offense into one of the nation’s most formidable. You passed on me, this person told me I couldn’t play, that person said I wasn’t good enough. “It’s just really that simple”. The players just get so locked in and they move forward. So they are committed to advertising in the games this year, whenever they are televised.
“The College Football Playoff is building an identity”.
Michigan State and Alabama duke it out at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
With numerous players and coaches in the program familiar with the spotlight of playing in the College Football Playoff, the Crimson Tide’s experience is a factor as to why the squad is favored to win this year’s playoff. Basically any season in which the semifinals aren’t played in the Rose and Sugar bowls, which are contractually tied to New Year’s Day.
“I felt like our team did not play the way you would like for them to play”.
“Obviously, any opportunity to host a game of this level … to have the key stakeholders who are involved in this system here in South Florida for that duration of time and then they see all that South Florida has to offer, you know, from the weather, from the amenities that the destination offers and the activities, the hotel infrastructure and, probably, the most pressing change and important change would be the stadium modernization, I think they’re going to be, you know, very pleased and very excited about what Sun Life Stadium has to offer”, Poms said.
All of this does not ruffle ESPN, which has a 12-year, $7.3 billion contract to carry the playoff and other bowls.
And most of their bridal party is, you guessed it, Michigan State fans.
Tom Bramson owns a number of bars and nightclubs in the heart of Michigan State territory, among other places. The Spartans have won two of the last three Big Ten Championships, and have posted 11 or more wins in five of the last six seasons.
McIntyre: Mark Dantonio is a tremendous coach, and one of the best in the country when the Spartans are an underdog. “We have never played that card”.
“I just think there’s got to be some sense of fairness in terms of asking is this what we want football to be?”
“You can bet that ESPN will promote Kimmel to its younger college football audience during the games”, the buyer says.
Flutie is a fan of the playoffs, and of how the 4-team semifinals have been set up, and like many, he thinks expansion could happen but could also present some problems. Clemson was 16th in Division I with 38.5 points per game. On 3rd downs, the last three games, Clemson’s defense has allowed teams to convert 35 percent of their chances.
Clemson vs. Oklahoma is New School.

“Everything we do is fast, so the tempo part of it, we’ve seen a lot”, Swinney said. It’s more the personnel.
