‘Heroes Reborn’: Claire is dead and 6 other things to know
Similar to the original series, Heroes Reborn characters also will be tempted by the dark side.

Heroes creator Tim Kring has spoken about the new show Heroes Reborn.
“We didn’t know we were going off the air”, Tim said, reports Access Hollywood, adding that the last scene where Claire (Hayden) goes public with her powers was “an obligatory baton pass” to pave the way for a follow-up.
“Heroes Reborn” takes place five years later, and “the exact amount of time it’s been off is the exact amount of time the story has moved”, Kring said.
This new series introduces a mix of new characters with superhero skills – including one played by Zachary Levi (“Chuck”) – and returnees, including Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka), Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg), Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) and the Haitian (Jimmy Jean-Louis). I always saw it as a show that could repopulate itself.
As for what’s in store for the heroes themselves, Kring is “confident” the premise will provide equal footing for both new and returning characters. “Falling in love with new characters is just as important as having the former cast in the new show”. Not only has the September premiere doubled in size, bumping The Blacklist, but we may yet get a second season. “In the real world of the story, [her character Claire Bennet] died a year prior to our story starting”, said Kring.
“There’s something really great about this: This is not the fifth season, this is actually the 10th season as if there were seasons in-between”. Again, I was really most interested in the origin stories and what that sort of dictated was once you answered those big questions, those primal existential questions of ‘What’s happening to me and why?’ and ‘How am I connected and what’s my purpose?’ – you have to answer those and then you have to replace those questions with other questions and those are usually plot questions … and they’re never quite as satisfying as the primal questions. “He unpacks a lot of the mythology from the original series”.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, “Heroes” was a fan favorite and became a phenomenon in television when it was launched in 2006, but the fire dwindled when some creative mistakes were committed while stretching out the storyline.

The series will consist of thirteen episodes but it was just announced that the premiere of Heroes Reborn has been extended to two hours.
