Heung min-Son delighted to help Vincent Janssen score landmark Tottenham goal

The Kane injury throws up two questions, the first of which is how coach Mauricio Pochettino plans to replace him. That much is certain.

During that time they dropped six points in the Premier League, five points in the Champions League group stage and went out of the League Cup to Liverpool.

If, as many fear, Kane has sustained more damage to his ankle ligaments, he can expect to miss a good chunk (if not all) of Spurs’ remaining fixtures this season.

Dele Alli believes Tottenham Hotspur’s ruthless streak bodes incredibly well for their Emirates FA Cup chances after dispatching Millwall in style to book a semi-final at Wembley.

Tottenham, however, have yet to face another Premier League side in the 2016/2017 FA Cup.

Millwall manager Neil Harris, whose club brought some 3,600 fans, said: “I didn’t hear anything”.

So, what are the potential solutions Pochettino has at his disposal?

Substitutes: 23 Christian Eriksen for Kane 10; 9 Vincent Janssen for Alli 74; 17 Moussa Sissoko for Wanyama 78. “I don’t think people realise how tough it is”, Dier said.

Probably not, but he might not have a choice.

Eriksen made the key breakthrough with a brilliant snap shot on the turn on the half-hour mark before Son crashed home a thunderous left-foot strike 10 minutes later. None of those goals, however, came from open play.

Alli tapped in Eriksen’s cross for the fourth in the 72nd minute and Janssen made it five seven minutes later with his first goal from open play for Spurs since signing past year. Mind you, that goal, with Spurs already leading 4-0, had no bearing on the outcome.

The striker managed to hobble off the field unaided, but Spurs fans will be sweating over their star’s availability for the season’s run-in.

Having watched Kane depart, Son took over the central striker role and he produced a stunning finish to double the home side’s lead approaching the half time interval. That’s probably wishful thinking, though.

The South Korean responded by silencing them with a hat-trick to help Spurs to a 6-0 win.

“Apart from that it was great that “Sonny” got a hat-trick and Vincent scored – that’s all positive signs and now hopefully they’ll step up”.
