High Ranking Woman, NYC Cop Among U.S. Troops Killed in Afghanistan
Six American troops, including Vorderbruggen, were killed Monday when a suicide bomber on a motorbike struck their patrol in the deadliest attack on US forces this year.

The soldiers were targeted as they moved through a village near Bagram Airfield, the largest USA military facility in Afghanistan, NATO and Afghan officials said. The U.S. and North Atlantic Treaty Organisation have around 13,000 troops in the country, majority operating under the training mandate.
