High Wind Warning Issued For Jefferson County

The gusts were part of a storm system that shut down a Lake MI pier in Grand Haven and prompted Muskegon officials to block off part of a street for fear of flooding from waves. Nine high school football games throughout the area were moved from Friday to Thursday last week due to inclement weather threats, and games in the tri-state area have been affected by weather three of the last six weeks.

This storm has the potential to produce power outages. A Metra spokesman said the issue was likely weather related.

A High Wind Warning means that a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring in the area.
