Highest Paid Actress: Forbes Releases 2015 List, Find Out Which Leading Lady

With her upcoming movie “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2” which is expected to join the roster of this year’s certified blockbuster movies, many are expecting that Jennifer Lawrence would remain on the top of the list when next year’s valuation is posted.

All in, the top 18 highest paid actresses earned $281 million, which seems like a superfluous amount of money until you consider that their male counterparts banked a combined $941 this year.

With that, here’s Forbes’ list of highest paid female actresses of 2015, in full.

The top earning actresses working today can earn anywhere between $10 million and $20 million on a movie, while negotiating a share of the box office profits.

Well, we don’t expect Jennifer Lawrence to go hungry anytime soon. “The success of stars such as Lawrence and Johansson prove that audiences want to see great actresses in all sorts of roles every bit as men”.

However, the list isn’t entirely composed of American A-listers, which doesn’t come as a huge surprise if you’ve been paying attention to the major studio’s efforts to make internationally appealing films.

According to Forbes Magazine, Jennifer Lawrence has earned an estimate of $52 million before tax, making her the top big earner actress in the list, followed by Scarlett Johansson who made $35.5 million and Melissa McCarthy who earned $23 million.

Actresses in the list, which had 18 actreses, also included Bingbing Fan ($21 million), Jennifer Aniston ($16.5 million), Julia Roberts ($16 million), Kristen Stewart ($12 million), and others.

Thanks to her star power, the actress has become one of the most in-demand names in Hollywood. And while there’s a lot more important stuff in the feminist cause to squabble over than a million dollar wage gap for very wealthy, privileged people, it’s still important that we bring it up. Number 33, the final person on Forbes’ list, is excellent actor Andy Lau. That’s a tidy sum, to be sure, but it’s sadly $660 million less than the 34 world’s highest-paid actors. Here is a list of the top ten highest paid actresses in 2015.
