“Is there anybody you would like to apologize to right now?”

Donald Trump chatted with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Wednesday night – but he refused to answer all his questions.

He then made Colbert chuckle with his description of the proposed wall: “And in that wall, we’re going to have a attractive, big, fat door where people can come into the country…but they have to come in legally”.

I want to apologize to you, because I’ve said a few things about you, over the years, that, in polite company, perhaps are unforgivable”, Colbert said.

Trump has in the past been a vocal supporter of claims that Obama was not born in the U.S. I talk about how veterans are being horribly treated. While his interviews with Jeb Bush and Joe Biden didn’t create many headlines, fans still had his sit-down with Donald Trump marked on the calendar.

“I don’t really talk about it anymore”, he said.

Though he didn’t agree with Trump’s politics, Colbert did have some kind words for the former Celebrity Apprentice host. Colbert asked. “Have you checked the newspapers lately?” Colbert and Trump even briefly engaged in a role-playing exercise where Trump attempted to convince Colbert, playing the Mexican president, why he should pay for the wall, which is a part of the New York billionaire’s proposal.

Colbert: “Barack Obama, born in the United States? Go”.

However, for Trump, Colbert simply said he wanted to thank the real estate mogul for running for president.

“At 11:45am today, we canceled Donald Trump’s scheduled appearance on The O’Reilly Factor on Thursday, which resulted in Mr. Trump’s subsequent tweet about his “boycott” of FOX News”, the spokesperson said. “I don’t talk about it anymore”.

“For years I played an over-the-top conservative character“, Colbert said. More surprising than that, this was probably the least incendiary interview Trump has given during this election cycle.
