Playing alongside John Peers, Jamie saw off Andy and Leander Paes 6-4, 7-6 to secure a straight sets win to reach the quarter-finals in Montreal.

Murray set up a meeting with Gilles Muller – whom he has defeated twice this season – as he finished his second round contest with 24 winners and 30 unforced errors and breaking four times.
But before that, Murray must face brother Jamie in the doubles – the first time the siblings have met in a Tour-level match.
“It’s awkward; it’s not the most comfortable situation”.
Andy Murray reached the third round of the Rogers Cup in Canada after a 6-4 7-5 win over Spaniard Tommy Robredo. “I don’t know how the Williams sisters have done that and played some great matches against each other in huge events. Hopefully we can play a good match and there will be no hard feelings”.
“I beat him in the final of a tournament and I was winding him up on the bus on the way home and I had my hand on an arm rest and he punched my finger and you can see it has never grown back properly”.
Later in the day, Andy Murray faced Luxembourg’s Gilles Muller, and defending champion Jo-Wilfried Tsonga took on Bernard Tomic.
After speaking with the trainer and his coach Magnus Norman, the 30-year-old third seed decided to give up the match.
A mid-set lapse from Murray allowed Muller a route back in as he broke straight back, but three double faults from the world number 46 restored the two-break cushion for Murray, who then held to book his quarter-final place.
Djokovic needed 54 minutes to overtake the 35th-ranked Sock.
“I’m glad I managed to finish it off in two because it’s been quite a long couple of days”.
Qualifier Ernests Gulbis pulled off a 6-2 5-7 6-3 triumph over Lukas Rosol and will next face Berdych’s conqueror Young. “Then I was in control”.

Robredo will be looking to go deeper next week in Cincinnati, as he prepares for the US Open, a tournament where he famously beat Roger Federer in the fourth round in 2013.
