Sheriff’s officials in Calhoun County say a auto has been hit by gunfire and it’s in the same area as another string of damage reports.

The first damage report came in around 4:15 p.m.
Saxton said anyone with information about the incidents can call the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office at 269-781-0911 or contact Silent Observer at 269-781-9700.
There’s been another alleged highway shooting incident in the Branch County area and this time, it wasn’t along I-69 or I-94. In the other, the vehicle’s owner had cleaned up the broken class before calling police, he said.
No one was injured. Calhoun County officials have yet to find any direct evidence that it is connected to a series of other suspected vehicle shootings that took place along the interstates this summer, but the investigation is ongoing.
Saxton said a window was shattered in a vehicle on M-66 near O Drive South about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
“The folks in (the vehicle) reported it right away and we were able to process that vehicle and it does appear it was damaged by a firearm”, Saxton said.
A driver reported that a projectile chipped the windshield on the passenger side of his or her vehicle on M-50 near Royston Road on the afternoon of September 25, the officials said.
“We are trying to pull all the information together”, he said.
Eaton County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Theresa O’Dell said her agency is investigating only two new reports.

Saxton also said motorists should be vigilant while driving and make note of where an incident occurred if their vehicle is damaged.
