Higuain feels the wrath of Napoli fans over reported move to Juventus
The size of the fee – which will smash Juve’s transfer record – surely means only one thing: Paul Pogba is on the way to Man Utd, and Juventus plan to use the proceeds to fund the Higuain deal.

There were also protests against both Higuain and the club at Trento, where Napoli won a pre-season friendly 4-0 on Saturday.
Despite his flaws, Giroud did have a productive season past year, scoring 16 goals with 6 assists in league matches, so it is not as if Arsenal are completely bare at striker.
Napoli fans are going to take a long time to forgive Gonzalo Higuaín for his imminent move as the San Paolo faithful can not quite come to terms with the fact that the player they anointed as Maradona’s heir, and with who they celebrated a Serie A record haul of 36 goals just two months ago, has chosen to move to Napoli’s most detested rival.
On Saturday, Napoli supporters gathered in the city centre to tear up pictures of the Argentine and set fire to replicas of his number nine shirt. “Why Juve? Maradona would never have done this to us”.
Argentina and Napoli legend Diego Maradona has criticised the influence of money on football, with compatriot Gonzalo Higuain joining Serie A champions Juventus from the Partenopei.
“It hurts me that Higuain is going to one of Napoli’s direct rivals, like Juventus”.
On the other hand, it’s hard to really blame the player for making the move given that Juve offer more assurances of winning silverware in the coming years, while ultimately it will be down to the club to accept the offer and allow the transfer to go through.

“A player has a responsibility to himself and it is those fat cats of business that are grinning the most in this case”.
