Hilary Clinton officially accepts Democratic nomination, hits Trump over fear, division

The convention provided hours of glowing tributes, including deeply personal testimonials from her husband, former President Bill Clinton, and former boss, President Barack Obama. Donald Trump says he wants to make America great again. “I’m proud that we put a lid on Iran’s nuclear program without firing a single shot – now we have to enforce it, and keep supporting Israel’s security”.

The theme of Thursday night, the fourth and final night of the Democratic convention, focuses on the campaign message of “Stronger Together”, a nod to party unity after tensions between Clinton supporters and those who backed Vermont Sen. “And we will transform the way we prepare our young people for those jobs,” Clinton said.

“It’s true. I sweat the details of policy (.) Because it’s not just a detail if it’s your kid, if it’s your family”.

“People who did the work and needed the money, and didn’t get it – not because he couldn’t pay them, but because he wouldn’t pay them”, Clinton said.

“We’ll build a path to citizenship for millions of immigrants who are already contributing to our economy”, she said.

“You’ve got to get in the arena with her, because Democracy isn’t a spectator sport”.

Thank you for fighting for health care as first lady of the US when both Congress and the insurance companies opposed you.

New Haven Mayor Toni Harp, a Clinton delegate, called her acceptance “very effective”.

Clinton also has the hard task of trying to reintroduce herself, a daunting task for someone who has been in the national public eye for more than two decades.

“It made clear that we don’t have a choice if we want to have a stable country”, she said.

She must make inroads with voters who find her untrustworthy or unlikable, as her favorability ratings in polls have hit all-time lows. Even combined with the almost $50 million of his own money Trump has contributed (or loaned) to his campaign, the Republican’s war chest is much smaller than Clinton’s.

On Thursday night, Clinton will finally take the stage and address her fellow Democrats and these many feminist DNC tweets prove exactly why this night is so historic not only for American politics, but for so many issues facing the nation’s future.

Clinton directly denounced the Republican nominee’s pessimistic view of the country.

The performances come in stark contrast to the previous week’s Republican convention, which had few famous entertainers despite billionaire nominee Donald Trump’s boast that he would bring some showbiz pizzazz.

Wall Street, corporations and the super-rich are going to start paying their fair share of taxes, she said.

“He said don’t talk down”.

“When you need a champion, there’s no one better to have in your corner”, said Senator Jeanne Shaheen.

Clinton’s daughter, Chelsea Clinton, will introduce her mother.

“I watch my daughters, two handsome, intelligent, black young women playing with their dogs on the White House lawn”, the first lady said during her DNC speech, “And because of Hillary Clinton, my daughters and all our sons and daughters now take for granted that a woman can be president of the United States”.

The event was meticulously created to craft her image as a caring grandmother tough enough to battle terrorists and unite a party still unsettled by a fractious primary process.

The night also saw speeches by Republicans who decided this election to vote for Clinton over Trump, as well as the families of fallen police officers.

At the end of the president’s last convention speech while in office, there were tears in his eyes.

Anthony Woods, a gay Bowie, Md. -area delegate pledged to Clinton and a former service member discharged under “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”, said the speech was “really, really inspiring”. She aimed to draw on an idea that has driven her throughout her career, that all Americans should be given the chance to fulfill their potential, a campaign aide said. And when we elect Secretary Clinton in November, they will be changed forever. “Hm, I wonder. Donald Trump!”.

One of the Clinton chanters said she was offended by the “small group of malcontents.”
