Hillary Clinton Accepts Democratic Nomination in Historic Speech
It’s going to be a tense run-off between Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump.

Clinton even plugged her old book: “It Takes a Village to Raise a Child”. Moments later, the Wells Fargo Center erupted in ecstatic cheers when the candidate acknowledged the significance of the moment. “We have to decide whether we all will work together so we all can rise together”. A poll conducted by the Atlantic and the Aspen Institute previous year found that less than half of white Americans believe the country’s “best days” lie ahead of it, compared to about 80 percent of African Americans, she writes.
A former supporter of leftist challenger Bernie Sanders, she chastised the senator’s die-hard backers as “ridiculous” if they did not support Clinton in her showdown with Trump.
She added: “I believe that when we have millions of hardworking immigrants contributing to our economy, it would be self-defeating and inhumane to kick them out”.
“It’s a dog-and-pony show”, Seamus Berkeley, a Sanders delegate from New Mexico, said of the convention.
Clinton has been a frequent Republican target during her more than three decades in national politics, most recently for her use of a private email server for government business at the State Department.
She and Trump are not that far apart in the polls, and Clinton has little room for error as she tries to appeal to those who don’t like her, and to independent and even Republican voters who may be willing to vote for her. Everybody knows how smart and tough and resilient she is.
“I think she has work to do, and I think the party has some work to do to convince us that not only are they going to live up to that platform the party passed, but that they’ll work with us”, said Donna Smith, executive director of Progressive Democrats of America.
Still, the Democratic faithful insist that Mrs. Clinton is on stronger footing after the convention and are optimistic that the party will coalesce behind her.
Police also removed a few attendees after a disruption in the arena. In fact, she made much of the speech a rebuke to Trump’s speech.
Meanwhile Clinton, known for guarding a zone of privacy around her, was unusually candid.
“She’s a woman driven by compassion, by faith, by a fierce sense of justice and a heart full of love”, Chelsea Clinton said.
“Hillary is a candidate with experience and qualifications and she’s ready to be president on Day One”, Chuck Pascal, a Sanders delegate from Armstrong County, Pa., said.
In an election that Mr. Trump and other GOP leaders frame as the last opportunity to overturn the legacy of the first African-American President of America, the stakes are high for all supporters of Mr. Obama and him personally. “So when Bill announced his run for another term on Chelsea’s second birthday, I began calling myself Hillary Rodham Clinton”.
Clinton has made clear she’s running to build on Obama’s record in office. But last night, she could finally start taking a small step back and celebrating her qualifications. We should be so proud that these words are associated with us. “Now we have to enforce it and keep supporting Israel’s security”, she said, referring to a nuclear deal with Iran the Obama administration struck. “I’m drained, I’m emotional”, she said.
Clinton also outlined her strategy for combating the Islamic State terror group. “We will surge our intelligence so that we detect and prevent attacks before they happen”. We have the most tolerant and generous young people we’ve ever had.
After she spent an hour applying for the biggest executive job in the world, the glass ceiling broke and the balloons descended on Hillary Clinton.
“He wants us to fear the future and to fear each other”, she said. “He’s betting that the perils of today’s world will blind us to its unlimited promise”.

While numerous pop singer’s legions of fans are unlikely to have been watching the convention, Perry used a tool that she has mastered like few others – social media. “They don’t tell you why”. “Really? I alone, can fix it?”
