Hillary Clinton accepts the Democratic Party’s nomination for president
Hillary Clinton promised Americans steady leadership as she accepted the Democratic presidential nomination on the final night of the party’s convention in Philadelphia.

And, without raising her voice in the least, without sounding even a little bit like a politician at a campaign rally, and with, still, a visibly huge amount of love and pride, Chelsea swiftly listed Hillary’s biggest selling points in this election.
“Hillary Clinton should be judged by her record, her history, and her policies, the same as everyone else”, said Sandra Williams, a Sanders delegate from Spokane. But Clinton did little to put a dent in her core vulnerability-that she’s untrustworthy.
On Thursday night, Clinton will likely deliver a similar message to the millions of Democrats and independents who did not back her in the primaries.
Donald Trump was quick to react to Hillary Clinton’s acceptance speech with a barrage of criticisms.
“A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons”, Clinton said.
Democrats drew 24.4 million viewers on day three, one million more than the Republican convention.
“He wants us to fear the future and fear each other”. Clinton assailed Trump’s record as a businessman, questioned whether he has the temperament to be commander in chief, and accused him of offering “empty promises”. “But we are not afraid”, Clinton said.
‘That is not the America I know, ‘ President Obama said. She could not have been more informal or charming. She criticized Trump’s proposals including one to build a wall along the Mexico-US border and another to ban Muslims from entering the country.
Before formally introducing Hillary as her “hero”, Chelsea made one last, simple, assuring statement to the crowd: “I know with all my heart that my mother will make us proud, as our next president”. We will not ban a religion.
“We must work with all of our allies who share our goal of destroying ISIS and stamping out Islamic terror”.
Clinton spoke of the strains that have been placed on USA society during the toxic year-long campaign featuring heated rhetoric from Trump and other candidates. Reporter: Their chants repeatedly interrupting her speech. “This is a historic moment tonight. and she is going to give an incredible speech”.
In her acceptance speech, Clinton praised Sanders for his campaign, its appeal to young people and its call for economic and social justice. Powerful forces are threatening to pull us apart. And they should set off alarm bells for all of us…isn’t he forgetting?
“There’s something else that my mother taught me: Public service is about service, and as her daughter I’ve had a special window in to how she serves”, Chelsea Clinton said.
Clinton added that American is a nation where “love trumps hate”.
“He talks a big game about putting America first”. But who would they be voting for instead? “Some of you are frustrated, even furious”. You’re right. Americans are willing to work and work hard. And right now an bad lot of people feel like there is less and less respect for the work they do. And less respect for them period. Democrats, we are the party of working people. “I’ve heard you. Your cause is our cause”.
She is now the official presidential nominee of the Democrats for the United States presidential elections 2016. Turning to Sanders’ supporters, whose raucous outbursts have bestrewn the otherwise polished convention, Clinton said: “I want you to know I’ve heard you. Your cause is our cause”.

“As of tomorrow, we have 100 days to make our case to America”, she said. “We wrote it together”, she said, “now let’s go out and happen together”.
