The Labor Day holiday is the traditional kickoff to the frenzied, last stretch of campaigning ahead of the November 8 election, and both Trump and Clinton chose to begin their day in Cleveland.

Clinton, after a few days of campaign trail rest, coughed her way through portions of her speech as she suffered one of her worst coughing bouts of the race.

“We will get our jobs back and we will stop companies from leaving”, Trump said, according to Fox 8 Cleveland.

Clinton dismissed conspiracy theories about her health that have festered, in part, because of her coughing attacks.

Trump, in remarks to a small group of reporters whom he invited on his plane for the first time since accepting his party’s nomination, said parts of his hardline immigration speech last week in Phoenix had been misinterpreted and that he had in fact softened his position to some extent. A 59% majority of Clinton backers say the economy is in recovery; just 7% of Trump backers agree.

Clinton was flying to events in OH and IL on Monday in a light blue-and-white campaign plane with her press corps.

One thing is for sure: The Trump-Clinton debates will be higher-rated than any football game.

Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia Center for Politics, said he remained convinced Ms Clinton was ahead.

In early August the Clinton campaign formally announced that Clinton would attend all three sessions and challenged Trump to make the same commitment.

In a poll taken September 1 through September 2, nearly one-fifth of registered voters (18 percent) still don’t know or have no opinion, despite Election Day being roughly two months away. “I look forward to the debates”, he said.

Republican nominee Donald Trump and his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, made last-minute plans to visit Northeast Ohio, too.

At the diner, Trump gestured to reporters to take note when he met a supporter named Maria Hernandez. She has mostly traveled by private jet during the primaries and the summer but was being accompanied on the plane by journalists for the first time.

Just a week after traveling to Mexico and then returning across the U.S. border to deliver a hardline immigration speech, he assailed Clinton for having “no plan” on immigration.

Under Clinton, “people can pour across the border and it doesn’t matter who the people are”. “Hillary Clinton could either put Donald Trump away or Donald Trump could get right back in this race, overcome this lid he seems to have at 40 or 41 percent, and that could change the entire dynamic of this”.

Conway added that she is bullish about Trump’s prospects for luring union workers to cross over and vote Republican in other industrial states, including Pennsylvania.

Hillary Clinton on Monday scheduled two TV interviews and flew for the first time this election cycle on a campaign plane that has press corps accommodations – amid criticism that she is increasingly avoiding the news media.

“The polls are close so Crooked Hillary is getting out of bed and will campaign tomorrow”, Trump taunted Sunday on Twitter.
