Hillary Clinton is set to resume campaigning today after a bout with pneumonia compelled the US Democratic presidential nominee to take an unforeseen break as she and Republican rival Donald Trump entered the critical two-month final stretch before the election.

Dr. Lisa Bardack adds that Clinton is “recovering well with antibiotics and rest” after she became overheated, dehydrated and felt dizzy at a 9/11 memorial ceremony on Sunday.

Clinton received a 10-day course of antibiotics, and since Sunday has rested at her home in Chappaqua, New York, where she “continues to improve”, Bardack’s letter said.

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton went back on the campaign trail after staying at home for several days following a health scare at the September 11 memorial in New York City. Clinton now takes a handful of medications, including for her thyroid and Bardack says “she continues to remain healthy and fit to serve as President of the United States”.

The letter also describes medications that Clinton is taking, including a blood thinner and a medication for hypothyroidism.

A tube was placed in Clinton’s left ear in January 2016 and a March 2016 CT scan showed no abnormalities of the brain and mild chronic sinusitis, she said.

Clinton was campaigning Thursday in Greensboro, North Carolina, and speaking to a Hispanic group in Washington. Trump’s Thursday appearance on “The Dr. Oz Show” was billed by the campaign as a discussion about his general well-being and his family’s medical history. “I don’t think so, I don’t think so”. The outlet additionally reported that, in a speech in Ohio, Trump claimed that Clinton “lacks the mental and physical stamina to take on ISIS and all of the many adversaries we face”.

For Mrs Clinton, questions persist about her health and how her campaign team handled information about her illness.

According to Bardack, Clinton has had “several allergy flares over the past year, which has been a typical pattern for most of her life”.

The syndicated television show will not be broadcast until Thursday and the campaign declined to immediately disclose the results. As you may know, I recently had a cough that turned out to be pneumonia. The letter says Kaine is in “overall excellent health”, has never smoked and has “modest” alcohol use. Still, there is still little known about Clinton’s medical history before 2012.

Trump says he, too, plans to release details from a recent physical, though it’s unclear when that will happen and how much information he will provide.
