Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders Work Together to Prevent Revolt at Democratic Convention
“She knew everything hat was going on”.

“Our motto is, ‘when they go low, we go high'”.
After the Republican National Convention saw its own share of disunity, including a speech by the candidate’s wife that borrowed lines from one given by Michelle Obama and Texas Sen.
Sanders arrived to a roar from the crowd and chants of “Bernie!” that continued for almost three minutes. Al Franken doing what amounted to a stand-up routine, both by himself and later with comedienne Sarah Silverman, eviscerating Trump on everything from Trump University to Trump steaks.
“Hillary is our nominee, and I will proudly vote for her”.
At least U.S. Sen. Others donned Robin Hood-style hats, a call to redistribute wealth from the rich to the poor. “It is an honor to be here tonight”, he said tearfully, before launching into a speech that thanked people for joining a “political revolution”, revisiting his policy aims and warning against Donald Trump. What the DNC did was more than unethical and unfair. But, nearly immediately, a plan to restore unity kicked into action.
“When we turn on each other, we can’t unite to fight back against a rigged system”, Warren continued.
You had former Denver Mayor Wellington Webb evoking the image of Lebron James and Steph Curry shaking hands at the end of a hard-fought NBA Championship series as a parallel for a Democratic Primary that exposed some intraparty rifts. “This right now is the greatest country on earth”. That is how we create change in this country. “Bernie” signs mingled with Clinton’s in the crowd.
Speakers in the convention’s first hours struggled to carry out business as angry Sanders supporters roared their disapproval, drawing a deafening response from Clinton delegates.
The Vermont senator said Sunday he wasn’t shocked but was “disappointed” by the DNC emails that suggest that party officials, who were supposed to be neutral, were hostile toward his presidential campaign and favored former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
On Tuesday night, Hillary Clinton is to become the first woman presidential nominee of a major party.
What was expected to be a tightly orchestrated convention, run with all the professionalism and experience that were lacking at Trump’s often-chaotic affair in OH, instead showed its rough edges in the early going, starting with chants of “Bernie” during the opening invocation and boos at numerous mentions of Clinton’s name. One question of the day was whether Sanders would press for a count by all the states, as his delegates want, or interrupt the process to ask that her nomination be approved by acclamation. “We’re all Democrats, and we need to act like it”.
Standing near a security entrance through which DNC delegates traveled, a crowd of raucous protesters urged them to shake up the convention with “Bernie beats Trump” chants. “We were there for the cameras and the cameras alone. It gives us a black eye if we don’t control our emotions”. They want the cameras.
Despite their bitterness and disappointment, Olson and others said they plan to stay involved. Efforts by Sanders’ supporters to pass amendments eliminating or limiting their power failed to win approval, but the sides agreed on a so-called “Unity Commission” to study the issue. We trusted you!” Warren spoke through it, not breaking stride as she honed in on the true target of her speech: “Trump.
Despite the swirling political chaos, Sanders made clear he would not make an insurgent bid for the nomination. “I love Bernie and I respect the hell out of him, but it’s hard”. We don’t have anybody doing anything but trying to find out about us. “Donald Trump doesn’t see me, he doesn’t hear me, and he definitely doesn’t speak for me”, said Somoza, who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and spastic quadriplegia when she was born.
He walked on stage at 10:50 p.m.to sustained, deafening applause and chants of his name. He’d already tried to rein his folks in on a day that saw dozens require police intervention outside. However, there were certainly waves of “Bernie, Bernie!” in the audience.
Tears welled in his eyes as he surveyed a room that welcomed him with a several-minute screaming ovation. “I am going to be respectful of you and I want you to be respectful of me”. And then, he got down to business.
He declared that “our revolution continues”. He stuck to his radical themes, telling the DNC that “this election is about ending the grotesque level of income and wealth inequality that we now experience – the worst it has been since 1928”. And leveling out an uneven playing field.

Sanders’s speech started off well. She has President Obama’s support and had the DNC leadership pulling strings for her inside the party.
