Hillary Clinton bikini mural covered with niqab after public decency complaints

A small business in Melbourne ordered the mural done by Lushsux, who is the artist behind a simlar Kim Kardashian image, but local officials called it “offensive” and want it to be taken down within ten days.

The council had asked the business owner to remove the mural.

Despite the council’s request for the image to be removed, the street artist Lushsux responded by covering Ms Clinton’s body with a niqab, leaving only her eyes showing, on Monday.

The work, by street artist Lushsux, showed the first female US presidential nominee in a plunging American flag-printed swimsuit.

“This is no longer a wall of a supposed “offensive and near naked” Hillary Clinton, a lovely Muslim woman”, Lushsux said via his Twitter account on Monday.

Mr Wall said on Tuesday the updated mural featuring the niqab was no longer considered offensive and the council would no longer be taking action against the store owner.

“If you were, you would be a racist, bigot, Islamophobic and xenophobic”.

Maribyrnong Council chief executive Stephen Wall told ABC News that the mural should not have been painted in the first place.

The artist chose to paint over the entire mural, but not all of it.

Earlier in the week, Lushsux accused Instagram of politically-motivated censorship after his account was deleted.

His two-storey mural of a naked Donald Trump in Melbourne’s CBD also drew complaints. Meanwhile, he told RT that he believes there was less fuss made about the Trump mural because of public opinion being largely against the Republican candidate.

“I could have done her pantsuit that she always seems to wear in different colors, but I tried to think of a way to counter the narrative that they are saying something is offensive – a woman who is not even naked is offensive”, the street artist explained to RT.

Lushsux also adapted his mural of Donald Trump, with a picture of wife Melania’s head.

The artist has created a second account and continues to tell Instagram to reactivate his original account.

A controversial mural of Hillary Clinton will be allowed to remain after the artist modified it from depicting the politician in a revealing swimsuit to one where she is wearing a burqa instead. The work by street artist Lushsux showed the first female
