Hillary Clinton blasts Russian Federation, as Donald Trump softens immigration stance

Hillary Clinton lapsed into another coughing fit on the campaign trail, and this time, it was during a Labor Day speech in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Washington Post said the NY businessman paid the Internal Revenue Service a $2,500 penalty this year after it was revealed that his foundation had violated tax laws by giving a political contribution to a campaign group connected to Florida’s attorney general, Pam Bondi, who has endorsed Trump.

Both Clinton and Trump are in OH courting voters in this critical swing state.

But Mr Trump’s unorthodox White House bid, including his campaign’s apparent imperviousness to criticism about his harsh rhetoric, assures a tight contest for the next 64 days.

The National Baptist Convention USA said Monday that Clinton will speak to their group Thursday in Kansas City.

The planes of Mr Trump and his running mate Mike Pence were parked on the tarmac as Ms Clinton and her vice presidential pick, Tim Kaine, arrived in separate planes. “If I am so fortunate enough to be elected, he will not be involved (in the foundation)”, she added.

After the meeting, which took place in Mexico Wednesday, Trump told press that he and Nieto had not discussed his long-promised plan to make Mexico pay for a wall between itself and the USA. During the question and answer session on her plane, she also had to step away because of persistent coughing.

Clinton said she was concerned about “credible reports about Russian government interference in our elections”, telling reporters traveling with her from OH to IL that “we are facing a very serious concern”.

As her jet landed, it parked on the tarmac near Trump’s with the space of about two football fields separating them.

It was delayed for additional uncomfortable minutes while Mrs. Clinton coughed repeatedly, croaking out at one point, “when I think about Donald Trump I get allergic”. The rest of Trump’s traveling press corps continued to fly on a separate plane on Monday. Any immigrants who want full citizenship must return to their countries of origin and get in line, he told reporters.

Under Mrs Clinton, “people can pour across the border and it doesn’t matter who the people are”.

Last week, Trump’s campaign team celebrated a success after the NY businessman made a quick trip to Mexico, appearing side by side with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, after talks about Trump’s wall-building and anti-immigrant policies.

“The mayor today is just one example of what’s happening across this country”, Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway said. There were also other Illinois Democrats who have spent a good portion of the day with union voters and workers talking to them about issues that matter to them.

But both Clinton and Republican rival Donald Trump know there are countless ways the trajectory of this uncommonly volatile presidential campaign still could shift in unexpected ways.

The latest CBS news battleground tracked poll shows Clinton leading by eight points in Pennsylvania and four points in North Carolina.

He also pledged to participate in all three televised presidential debates, ending speculation that he might sit out one or more if he was not happy with the format.
