Hillary Clinton campaigns in Charlotte

Burton, a former deputy White House press secretary, noted that Lauer’s hard-line questioning of Clinton was not the problem, but the fact that he did not grill Trump in the same way.

On Wednesday, Trump is expected to unveil a plan to end the military sequester – across the board budget cuts – during a speech in Philadelphia.

Waukesha County is considered one of the most reliably Republican counties in America, but voters there say they’re frustrated by the options they have on the ballot for president this fall.

Clinton began the NBC forum saying her long experience in government as a USA senator and secretary of state made her uniquely qualified to serve as president.

“I think that when you serve in the armed forces, that’s a very special situation”, Trump said.

Donald Trump and his joint committees raised $90 million in August, a substantial haul for a candidate late to fundraising but one that still significantly trails Hillary Clinton’s enormous summer totals. Clinton has said the Clinton Foundation would stop taking foreign and corporate contributions if she were elected (she should go further, by severing all family ties with the foundation) while Trump has no plans to minimize such conflicts of interest – or even to disclose them.

A USA naval flight officer told the former secretary of state he would have been jailed if he had handled classified information as she had done.

Responding to another question, she also expressed regret towards her decision to vote in favour of 2003 Iraq War, which according to her eventually resulted in the establishment of the Islamic State militant group in the Middle East.

Wednesday’s forum was the first time the pair had squared off on the same stage since accepting their parties’ presidential nominations in July for the November 8 election.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump speaks to Matt Lauer during the Commander in Chief Forum in Manhattan, New York, on Tuesday night, September 7. I’d say that when someone wants to be president, and calls it “unpatriotic” to render a negative verdict about the effectiveness of an American president, the word “scary” ought to be applied a little differently.

Clinton began the forum saying her long experience in government as a U.S. senator and secretary of state made her uniquely qualified to serve as president.

In the interview, she vows to defeat the militant group and adds, “I don’t want them to feel as if they can be getting more recruits because of our politics”.

“The obvious takeaway from these numbers is that Donald Trump has staged a comeback from his post-Democratic convention lows, especially in Pennsylvania and Ohio”, Quinnipiac’s Peter A. Brown noted. “And even the press, I’ll tell you, it’s not a big deal”, he said. The interviews were held aboard the historic aircraft carrier the USS Intrepid, docked off New York City.

Hillary thinks she can get away with this because she’s got the media trained to run with the interpretation of anything Trump says that will make him sound the most wild and irresponsible.

“She’s been there for 30 years”, Trump said.

Trump’s comments Friday night follow his repeated criticism of Clinton as a “corrupt” politician and came moments after his crowd of supporters erupted in chants of “Lock her up!”

Clinton has repeatedly slammed Trump on the campaign trail for his embrace of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

On Thursday, Trump said he would have voted against the war if he had been serving in Congress at the time.

“Permitting there to be an ongoing civil war in Libya would be as threatening and as unsafe as what we are seeing in Syria”, she said. “Then we are going to begin implementing plans for construction of a wall along our southern border”.
