Hillary Clinton claims predecessor Colin Powell advised personal email usage

Clinton had reportedly told the Federal Bureau of Investigation that Powell advised her to use a personal account, according to the New York Times. The FBI recommended against criminal charges for Clinton, but Clinton has been widely criticized by Republicans over the issue.

Judicial Watch made a name for itself by dogging former president Bill Clinton, and has now filed a number of lawsuits under the Freedom of Information Act (Foia) seeking records from the state department about Hillary Clinton’s time spent as the nation’s top diplomat.

“The judge, Emmet Sullivan, did, however, grant Judicial Watch permission to submit written questions to Clinton, which she will have to answer under oath within 30 days”.

According to Colin Powell, in addition to being ethically challenged, Hillary Clinton is somewhat incompetent.

The judge gave Judicial Watch until October 14 to submit written questions to Clinton and ordered her to respond within 30 days.

Powell, through a spokesman, said he doesn’t remember the dinner party conversation, but added he did use a private email account for unclassified communications with other department employees because no official system existed for such messages when he had the job.

Powell has repeatedly said he has no recollection of the event, but he did email Clinton about his email practices as secretary of State.

A federal judge has ruled on Judicial Watch’s request to depose Hillay Clinton as part of their FOIA lawsuit.

Colin Powell is pushing back on reports suggesting that he might have given Hillary Clinton the idea to use a private email account as Secretary of State, telling media outlets that “her people are trying to pin it on me”.

Unlike Clinton, Powell relied on a commercially available service to host his personal email account. The New York Times notes, journalist Joe Conason reported the exchange in his book “Man of the World: The Further Endeavors of Bill Clinton”.

For months, Democrats have tried to deflect controversy over Clinton’s private email server, and her destruction of emails her attorneys deemed “personal”, by arguing that her predecessors used private email addresses. Comey still harshly criticized Clinton’s decision to keep communications on her private email, calling it “extremely careless” given the presence of classified information.

Representing the State Department, Justice Department lawyer Lisa Olson told Boasberg that officials do not yet know what portion of the emails is work-related rather than personal.
