Hillary Clinton declines to debate Bernie Sanders ahead of California primary

While some party leaders have been careful to stay neutral in the race between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, others have not-so-subtly hinted at their preference. There have been some 7,500 tweets so far today. The campaign also highlighted a 2007 interview in which Trump said he was “excited” at the prospect of soft real estate markets.

At the same time, Clinton said she would stand her ground on abortion rights, LGBT rights and voting rights.

The Clinton aide suggested that Sanders was doing this, in part, to fundraise off the issue, a point the Sanders camp disputed.

Washington has both a presidential primary and a caucus system, but Democrats will ignore the results of Tuesday’s primary, having chosen to continue to use the party caucus system to allocate their national convention delegates.

Trump’s response to his controversial comments came during a rally with several thousand supporters that was repeatedly interrupted by protesters, mostly immigration activists protesting Trump’s hardline immigration policies that call for deporting all estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants and building a wall on the southern border of the U.S. Clinton is seeking to blunt the inroads that Trump has been making with voters in crucial states such as Florida and Ohio.

Bernie Sanders’ campaign manager clarified his comment that the Democratic convention would be “messy”, saying that Sanders meant that a heated debate was possible.

“It seemed like an outpouring of veteran anger against Donald Trump: over a dozen former service members protesting outside Trump Tower”.

But Trump didn’t back down from his past statements and indeed fired back in a statement to NBC News, declaring that it was precisely that business mindset – his ability to “get a good result out of a very bad and sad situation” – that made him better-suited to the presidency than a politician.

“You have a whole series of the population who either (a) don’t know anything about it, or (b) weren’t paying attention at the time”, Lewandowski said.

“I am a businessman and I have made a lot of money in down markets, in some cases as much as I’ve made when markets are good”.

This is what Trump has done throughout his entire campaign.

Clinton referenced that audio clip as she fired off criticism on Twitter.

In Kentucky, where only a quarter of voters have a favorable view of Clinton, the campaign has deployed someone on her behalf with a higher favorability from voters: former President Bill Clinton. It takes 2,383 delegates to win the Democratic nomination.

15 people will have the job of drafting the Democratic Party’s 2016 platform.

Trump’s allies have also used the Clinton sex scandals of the 1990’s to attack President Clinton, and Trump.

Clinton holds a substantial lead with party leaders and elected officials, called superdelegates, and is on track to clinch the nomination through the combination of pledged delegates and superdelegates after contests in California, New Jersey and four other states on June 7.
