Wednesday, a leak of Powell’s private emails revealed some animus between himself and the Clintons.

Unlike the DNC or Clinton email dumps, there exists no earth-shattering revelation of Powell’s nefarious intentions, if he ever had any.
In one of these emails from August, Powell, who led the State Department during the earlier phases of the George W. Bush presidency, criticizes the birther movement, which Donald Trump helped lead, calling it racist.
“I was never a fan of Colin Powell after his weak understanding of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq = disaster”, Trump tweeted.
“I have a great deal of respect for Colin Powell, and I have a lot of sympathy for anyone whose emails become public”, Clinton said on Tom Joyner’s radio show Thursday morning.
But Powell was equally irritated with Clinton, especially after the Democratic nominee used him as a scapegoat for her private email server problems, having acknowledged that he used a personal email account while secretary of state.
“H.R.C. could have killed this two years ago by merely telling everyone honestly what she had done and not tie me into it”, Mr Powell wrote late last month, referring to Mrs Clinton by her initials.
BuzzFeed reported the former secretary of state’s emails – obtained by the site DCLeaks.com – had lots of criticism for Trump. “We can do much better!” ABC, CBS, and NBC all ignored how Powell accused former President Bill Clinton of “dicking bimbos at home”. “I’m not going to start discussing someone else’s private emails”.
In another email, Powell referenced Trump’s birtherism.
“For good reason she comes across as sleazy”, Powell writes after being asked when he plans to endorse Clinton in the 2016 presidential race.
In an email to CNN’s Fareed Zakaria, from December, Powell comments on the network’s coverage of Trump’s Campaign. “I told her staff three times not to try that gambit”.
“I’m very committed to continuing to travel across the country, to talk about and hear from young African Americans about the struggles they face daily”, she added. On Univision, they mentioned how Powell is upset with the Clinton campaign over her e-mail scandal, but touted an e-mail where Powell hammered Trump, saying, “He said that Trump’s wish of attracting the black vote is a “schizophrenic fantasy”.

Later he blasted her and the former president.
