Hillary Clinton should apologize for saying Islamist extremists are rooting for her GOP rival Donald Trump to win the presidential elections, the Republican Speaker of the House Paul Ryan said Thursday, shortly after the Democratic nominee’s comments were aired as part of an interview to Israeli TV. “So I am proud of the people who are supporting me”. In it, Mr Trump praised Vladimir Putin for his high approval ratings and his “very strong control” over Russian Federation, comparing him favourably to Barack Obama, the United States president. After Trump touted 88 retired military figures backing his campaign earlier this week, Clinton’s campaign has sought to keep the upper hand, noting her growing list of endorsements.

Trump has said he has avoided mock debates in favor of policy discussions with a roundtable of his closest advisers, including former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
